Summary

In today's meeting, the Committee reviewed the issues sent by the President regarding the appointment of Al-Usthaza Fathimath Dhiyana (Goranvila, S. Hulhudhoo) as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, and the appointment of the Ambassador to the Saudi Arabia Mr. Ahmed Sareer (M.Westside) as the non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.


Accordingly, the Member for the Kulhudhuffushi North Constituency, Mohamed Dawood, proposed to approve the appointment of Al-Usthaza Fathimath Dhiyana (Goranvila, S. Hulhudhoo) as the Ambassador of the Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, pursuant to Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of the Maldives Foreign Service Act (Act No. 20/2021). The proposal was seconded by the Member for the Guraidhoo Constituency, Hanan Mohamed Rasheed, and passed unanimously.



Next, the committee reviewed the issue sent by the president on the appointment of the non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Consequently, South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau proposed to approve the appointment of the Ambassador to the Saudi Arabia Mr. Ahmed Sareer (M.Westside) as the non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. This was seconded by South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the meeting.
