Summary
On today’s agenda were the pending cases before the Committee.
The Committee began reviewing the cases submitted by MP Mohamed Ibrahim and Project Thimaaveshi, along with several other civil society organizations, expressing their concerns regarding the decision to reduce the protected areas of Eidhigali Kilhi and Koattey for a proposed project to widen the Link Road in Hithadhoo, Addu City.
The Committee began reviewing the information received from the relevant authorities regarding the case. However, due to a technical issue, the attachment files submitted with the letter from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment could not be reviewed. Therefore, Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim, Member for Maafannu West Constituency, proposed that the review of the case be continued at the next meeting, together with all relevant documents. The motion was seconded by Hassan Waheed, Member for Vilufushi Constituency.
The motion was approved unanimously by all the members present at the meeting.
