Summary
In today's meeting, the Committee reviewed the issues sent by the President regarding the appointment of Mr. Thorig Ibrahim (G.Noomaraa Hiyaa) as the Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
Accordingly, North Kulhudhuffushi Constituency Member Mohamed Dawood proposed to to set a review deadline of 4th August 2026 and suggested that there was no need to clear the nominee's records with the relevant authorities or conduct an interview, as the said nominee is currently an active Ambassador. This was seconded by South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the meeting.
