Summary

Today, the committee reviewed the “Bill on amendment to the Waste Management Act (No. 24/2022)”, proposed by the government and sponsored by Ungoofaaru constituency member Ibrahim Shifaz.

Mathiveri constituency member Hassan Zareer highlighted that the article 17 of the bill has the same phrasing word for word as Article 41 of the original act being amended. He then proposed removing that provision from the bill. It was seconded by West Maafannu constituency member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim.

All the members present unanimously voted in favour of the proposal.

After that, the committee chair called for a vote on approving the whole bill with the changes made by the committee. All the members present unanimously voted in favour.
