Committee Meeting - People's Majlis of Maldives

Summary

In today’s meeting, members met with the officials from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development and the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) to discuss the issue raised regarding the lack of a robust system to ensure the quality of online higher education programs in the Maldives. In this regard they informed the committee that rules and regulations have already been established regarding the concerns raised and that they are currently reviewing them to align with evolving global and technological advancements. The officials also told that the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) has the authority under the established laws, to implement the remedial measures to address the concerns raised in the referenced matter.
