Summary
In today's meeting, the committee discussed the Bill on amendment to the Foreign Currency Act (Act No.32/2024). As proposed by Funadhoo Constituency member Mohamed Mamdooh and seconded by Guraidhoo Constituency member Hanan Mohamed Rasheed, the committee unanimously passed the Bill without any further amendments.

Secondly, the committee reviewed the audit reports of Addu City Council. There were two proposals with respect to the recommendations discussed in the committee. Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Gafoor Moosa proposed to include an additional recommendation requesting the Auditor General’s Office to complete the audit of Malé City Council for the years 2021 to 2024 and to submit the report to the committee within three months. The proposal was seconded by South Hulhumale Constituency member Dr. Ahmed Shamheed, but was not passed by the committee vote.

Funadhoo Constituency member Mohamed Mamdooh proposed and Kelaa Constituency member Abdulla Shareef seconded to pass the recommendations proposed earlier by the committee regarding the issues highlighted in the audit reports of Addu City Council. The proposal was passed by the majority.
