Summary
In today's meeting, the committee reviewed the matter sent by the President to appoint a member to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives.
In this regard, South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau proposed to set 19 August 2026 as the deadline for committee to complete the review, and to open for public complaints until 18 August 2026, and to interview candidates nominated by the President on 19 August 2026. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel and was passed unanimously by the members present and voting at the meeting.
