Summary
In this meeting, the Committee discussed a letter submitted by the Diabetes Society of Maldives outlining their concerns. The Committee decided to seek further information from the relevant institutions to clarify the issues raised.
The institutions to which the Committee decided to send letters are as follows:

This was proposed by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Saudha and seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee.
Next, the Committee discussed a letter submitted by Ilmuveringe Gulhun regarding the need to prohibit unlawful behaviours that violate Islamic and social norms and to identify an appropriate legal solution to address the issue.
Regarding this issue, the Committee decided to seek information from the Malé City Council and the Maldives Police Service on whether they have received any complaints or reports related to this matter, and to obtain relevant statistics.
This was proposed by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Saudha and seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee.
Regarding the same issue, the Committee also decided to send a letter to Ilmuveringe Gulhun stating that the Preventing Actions Contrary to Public Social Standards Act addresses the concerns outlined in the issue they have submitted, as the Act provides the legal framework to prevent actions that violate public social norms and sets out the measures to be taken against individuals who breach such standards.
This was proposed by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Saudha and seconded by Naifaru Constituency Member Yaseen Abdullah. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee.
