Summary

As the Deputy Chairperson of the committee, MP Saudulla Hilmy of North Thinadhoo Constituency has resigned, first of the agenda for this meeting was the election of a new Deputy Chairperson, in accordance with Article 153 of the Standing Order of the People's Majlis. At the commencement of the meeting, the chair was presided over by the Deputy Director, Legal Affairs, Al-Usthaza Shiraza Naseer conducted the election of the Deputy Chairperson of the committee.

Accordingly, upon opening the floor for nominations for Deputy Chairperson, MP Ismail Shafeeu of Isdhoo Constituency proposed and MP Abdulla Shazeem of Central Hulhumale Constituency senconded to elect MP Ali Moosa of Hoarafushi Constituency as the new Deputy Chairperson.

The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.

As MP Ali Moosa of Hoarafushi Constituency, passed aswas elected as the Vice Chairperson of the committee, he presided over the rest of the meeting, took over the chairing of this meeting.


Subsequently, the meeting proceeded with reviewing the Land Transport Bill. In this regard, after the committee's proposed amendments to the bill were read out, a vote was called to pass the bill with the included amendments.

The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
