Summary

In today’s meeting, the committee discussed on extending the deadline of the Bill on the Amendment to the Act No. 7/2010 (Decentralization Act). Vilifushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed proposed to extend the deadline of the Bill until 20th August 2026. This was seconded by Henveiru Uthuru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan. Afterwards, the committee discussed setting a date to interview the candidates nominated by the President for appointment to the Board of the Local Government Authority. Henveiru Uthuru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed to schedule the committee meeting to interview the candidates for 17th August 2026, 11:00. This was seconded by Kolamaafushi Constituency Member Ibrahim Didi. When put to a vote, this proposal was passed unanimously by the members present and participating in the vote.
