Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee interviewed the candidates nominated by the President for appointment to the Board of the Local Government Authority. Vilifushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed proposed to determine that, following the committee's interview of the candidates nominated by the President for the appointment of 2 members determined by the People's Majlis to the Board of the Local Government Authority pursuant to Section 59 (a) (2) of Act No. 2010/7 (Decentralization Act), as they scored an average of 75% (seventy-five percent) or higher based on marks awarded by committee members according to the criteria passed by the General Committee of the People's Majlis, they are capable candidates for appointment to the Board of the Local Government Authority pursuant to Section 59 (e) of Act No. 2010/7 (Decentralization Act). This was seconded by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda. When put to a vote, this proposal was passed unanimously by the members present and participating in the vote.
