Summary
In today's meeting, the committee reviewed matters submitted to the committee. First, the committee reviewed the information shared by the Local Government Authority (LGA), the Civil Service Commission, and the Ministry of Finance regarding the issue submitted requesting an investigation and action on matters concerning the Secretary General of the HDh. Hanimaadhoo Council. Since the letters stated that the Secretary General of the HDh. Hanimaadhoo Council has been dismissed from employment in connection with this issue, Vilufushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed proposed that there is no further need to proceed with this matter and that the case be filed. This proposal was seconded by Naifaru Constituency Member Yaseen Abdulla. When this proposal was put to a vote, it was passed unanimously by the members present at the committee who participated in the vote.
Afterwards, discussions were held regarding the annual reports submitted to the committee. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Saudha proposed that since the annual reports submitted by councils are reports that should be submitted to the Local Government Authority rather than the People's Majlis, and since the Local Government Authority has submitted its annual report to the committee and no further issues were identified upon reviewing that report, these reports should be filed. This proposal was seconded by Vilufushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed. When this proposal was put to a vote, it was passed unanimously by the members present at the committee who participated in the vote.
