Hon. Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Speaker of the People’s Majlis, paid a courtesy call on the President of the House of Councillors of Morocco, Hon. Mohamed Ould Errachid, on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) in Islamabad today.

During the meeting, both the Speakers reaffirmed the long-standing friendly relations between the Maldives and Morocco and explored ways to further strengthen these ties through the exchange of parliamentary visits and enhanced institutionalcooperation.

The Hon. Speaker highlighted that the People’s Majlis will soon establish a Maldives–Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group to deepen inter-parliamentary engagement. Discussions also covered capacity-building opportunities for the Secretariat of the People’s Majlis.
