The President of Maldives His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has delivered the Presidential Address, in accordance with Article 84 of the Constitution of Maldives. The Presidential Address was delivered today at the inaugural session of the People’s Majlis.
During today’s sitting chaired by Hon. President Mohamed Nasheed, MP, Speaker of the People’s Majlis His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih highlighted the country’s current status and stated areas of improvement. The Presidential address summarized the country’s social, economic and political issues.
Speaking at today’s sitting Hon. President Mohamed Nasheed, MP, Speaker of the People’s Majlis ensured the President that the parliament would provide all assistance needed in fulfilling the task of nation building. In addition, he stated that the 19th Majlis has performed remarkably well compared to previous parliaments and highlighted the involvement of all the members of the 19th Majlis. He concluded by thanking His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for addressing the parliament.
His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and first Lady Madam Fazna Ahmed were warmly greeted upon arrival at House of the Parliament by Hon. President Mohamed Nasheed, MP, Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Deputy Speaker Hon. Eva Abdulla and Parliamentary Group Leaders.
Members of the parliament along with State dignitaries, Cabinet Ministers and diplomats attended the sitting.
