Male', 3 November 2023 - His Excellency Mr. Matrek bin Abdullah Al-Ajalin Al-Dosari, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Maldives, paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Mohamed Aslam, Speaker of the People’s Majlis.

The meeting, conducted today at the People’s Majlis, served as a momentous occasion to fortify the longstanding ties between the People’s Majlis and the Majlis Ash-Shura by exploring avenues for reciprocal visits.

During the meeting, Speaker Aslam extended his heartfelt gratitude for the generous contributions and unwavering support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the development of the Maldives. Additionally, Speaker Aslam underscored the shared values, particularly the common Islamic values, between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. He expressed sincere appreciation for the continuous support from both the Government of Saudi Arabia and the people of Saudi Arabia, notably in the form of scholarships granted to Maldivian students.

Ambassador Matrek bin Abdullah Al-Ajalin Al-Dosari acknowledged the historical affinity between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. The Ambassador further communicated the Saudi Embassy's keen interest in supporting and focusing on aiding the Maldives in the crucial fields of Health and Education.
