The Speaker of the People’s Majlis Hon. Mohamed Aslam has departed to Colombo, Sri Lanka for an official visit at an invitation from the Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament, Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

Hon. Speaker’s delegation includes the Minority Leader of the People’s Majlis Hon. Ali Azim MP, the Chair of Maldives-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Group Hon. Ali Niyaz MP and the Chair of Foreign Relations Committee of the Majlis Hon. Hussain Shaheem MP.

During this visit, Speaker Hon. Mohamed Aslam is scheduled to meet with Sri Lankan dignitaries including the Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, and the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs. The delegation is also scheduled to visit significant landmarks in Colombo.
