Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee was scheduled to review the proposed budget of People’s Majlis Secretariat for the year 2025. Officials from the People’s Majlis attended to give further information to the committee. Two propositions were proposed regarding the information obtained and the discussion held among members. First, MP Ameen Faisal of Kanditheem constituency proposed to meet with the relevant officials of Ministry of Finance, before passing the budget. This was seconded by MP Ismail Shafeeu of Isdhoo constituency. The second proposition was from MP Ahmed Riyaz of Thimarafushi constituency, which was to pass the proposed budget as it was proposed by the Secretariat. However, no member seconded this. Hence, vote was taken to the first proposition and was passed unanimously.
