Foreign Relations Committee's 13th Meeting of 2024

Summary

In today's meeting, the committee reviewed the issue sent by the President on the matter of the appointment of Mr. Ahmed Sareer as ambassador to Saudi Arabia, in accordance with Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of Act No. 20/2021 (The Maldives Foreign Services Act). Kendhikulhudhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Afoo Hamid proposed to continue this issue without the interview process. It was seconded by South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain. . The proposal was passed unanimously.


Then the committee discussed the matter referred by the President for the approval of the Parliament on "International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)”. Guraidhoo Constituency Member Hanan Mohamed Rasheed proposed to pass the matter, it was seconded by South Maafannu Constituency member Abdulla Rifau . The proposal was passed unanimously.
