In this meeting discussions were carried out regarding the amendment bill to the Act number 10/2011 (Goods and Services Tax Act). In this regard, committee decided to amend sections 1 and 2 of the Bill to include “cafe” within the exemption given in section 15(h)(2) of the Act and to add a section to the Bill to amend the section. Baarashu constituency member Ibrahim Shujau proposed to pass the bill along with the amendments brought by committee. Kendhikulhudhoo constituency member Mohamed Afoo Hamid seconded the proposal and was passed unanimously.

Next on the agenda was to review the amendment bill to the Act number 2/99 (Tourism Act). Baarashu constituency member Ibrahim Shujau proposed to pass the bill as it was sent to the committee without any amendments and was seconded by Central Mahchangolhi constituency member Ahmed Xamyr. The proposal was passed by the majority of members vote.

In addition, the amendment bill to the Act number 29/2016(Airport Taxes and Fees Act) was reviewed. Baarashu constituency member Ibrahim Shujau proposed to pass the bill as it was sent to the committee without any amendments and was seconded by kelaa constituency member Abdulla Shareef. The proposal was passed by the majority of members vote.

Furthermore, the amendment bill to the Act number 31/79(Export Import Act) was reviewed. The committee amended Article 2 to Article 4 of the Bill. Baarashu constituency member Ibrahim Shujau proposed to pass the bill along with the amendments brought by committee. Central Mahchangolhi constituency member Ahmed Xamyr seconded the proposal and was passed by the majority of members vote.
