Summary
In today's meeting, after discussing the letter sent to clarify whether the Ministry of Homeland, Security and Technology has formulated the regulations to be framed under Act no 2/2022 (Electronic Transactions Act). Hura constituency member Dr. Anara Naeem proposed to send a letter to the ministry seeking clarification of the issue. This proposal was seconded by North Kulhudhuffushi member Mohamed Daawoodh and passed unanimously.
Discussions were then held regarding the two letters sent regarding the food promotion regulation published by Maldives Food and Drug Authority. In this regard, North Galolhu member Mohamed Ibrahim proposed a meeting with officials of Maldives Food and Drug Authority to clarify the concerns about the said regulation. North Kulhudhuffushi member Mohamed Dawood seconded the proposal and was passed unanimously.
Lastly the committee discussed the letter sent to find an appropriate solution to the delay in framing the regulations to be made in connection with the laws being enacted by parliament. Since none of the members objected, it was decided to hand over the committee secretariat to examine the statistics of the regulations that had not been framed.
