Summary

In today's meeting, the committee reviewed the issue sent to the committee on the 12th sitting of the 2025 1st session of the Parliament held on March 10, 2025.

North Kulhudhuffushi Constituency Member Mohamed Dawoodh proposed to appoint Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Ambassador-at-Large, Hudha Ali Shareef, H. Filigasdhoshuge, as the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (U.N. ESCAP). It was seconded by South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain.

The proposal was passed unanimously.



Next, the committee deliberated on the issue sent to the committee on the 15th sitting of the 2025 1st session of the Parliament held on March 17, 2025.

South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain proposed to set the deadline of the issue on March 19, 2025 and also to omit the record clearance and interview process as Geela Ali, Ma. Geela, is already filling the position of the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium. It was seconded by South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau.

The proposal was passed unanimously.
