Introduction
The Committee was established on July 31, 2024, during the 22nd session of the 20th People's Majlis. Under Section 134 of the Rules of Procedure of the People's Majlis, the committee is mandated to review issues related to housing and to identify and analyse any issues in the national policies related to housing. Moreover, the committee is also mandated to review bills related to housing and to send them to the Majlis for consideration. Likewise, the mandate of the committee also includes assessing the annual reports of the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development and any other institution that is responsible for matters related to housing and informing them of any issues that need to be addressed.
