Committee - People's Majlis of Maldives

Introduction

Joint Sub-Committee of Public Accounts Committee and Committee on Economic Affairs was established at the 2nd sitting of the 20th People's Majlis's Whole House Committee held on 23rd October 2024. The mandate of the committee includes to review the following Bills and report it for consideration to the Whole House Committee. 1. Bill on amendment to the Goods and Services Tax Act (No. 10/2011) proposed by government, sponsored by West Maafannu constituency member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim; 2. Bill on amendment to the the Tourism Act (No. 2/99) proposed by government, sponsored by South Mahchangolhi constituency member Musthafa Hussain; 3. Bill on amendment to the Airport Taxes and Fees Act (No. 29/2016) proposed by government, sponsored by Gemanafushi consituency member Asadhulla Shihab; and 4. Bill on the amendment to the Export Import Act (No. 31/79), proposed by government, sponsored by North Mahchangolhi constituency member Ibrahim Mohamed.
