Hon. Speaker of the People’s Majlis, President Mohamed Nasheed is scheduled to make an official visit to Seychelles from 22 – 28 July 2022 at an invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Mr. Roger Mancienne. Hon. Speaker is scheduled to depart for Seychelles sometime today.

During his visit, Hon. Speaker is set to visit the Seychelles Parliament and to hold an official meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles. The meeting will focus on ways to work together for the development of the two countries.

In his Invitation letter, the Speaker of the Seychelles Parliament noted that the Maldives and Seychelles are sister countries belonging to the Indian Ocean and are similar in the challenges that both respective countries face, as well as having mutual interests and goals. He also highlighted the importance of working together to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Speaker of the Seychelles Parliament also highlighted the importance of further strengthening the relations between the two countries in the future and providing opportunities for development with the assistance of the international institutions that both respective countries are a part of.
