Hon. President Mohamed Nasheed, MP, Speaker of the People’s Majlis is traveling to Washington, D.C, from 12 to 16 October 2022, to attend the 9th Meeting of Finance Ministers of Climate Vulnerable 20 Countries (V20) to be held during the Annual meeting of IMF and World Bank in Washington, D.C.

The current Chair of V20, the Honourable Minister for Finance and Economic Planning of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Kenneth Ofori-Atta, extended a special invitation to the Honourable Speaker to attend this remarkable meeting. The theme of this meeting is " When is Now?"

The Speaker will also be meeting with senior officials from the IMF, World Bank and CVF during his visit to Washington.

Ghana currently chairs the Vulnerable Twenty (V20) Group of the Climate Vulnerable Forum. The Maldives is also a CVF member. Therefore, the People's Majlis Secretariat and the CVF office will oversee all arrangements for this visit.
