People's Majlis endorses Ms. Fathimath Niusha as Secretary General of the Parliament of Maldives.

At the 48th sitting of the 19th Majlis held today, Parliament unanimously endorsed Ms. Fathimath Niusha as Secretary General of the Parliament of Maldives with 59 votes in favour.

Fathimath Niusha was first appointed as its Secretary General by the Parliament of Maldives on 9th July 2018. Prior to her appointment, she had been the Deputy Secretary General of the Parliament for 6 years and has extensive experience in the workings of the Parliament and the Secretariat. On numerous occasions, she had acted as the Secretary General of the Parliament in the absence of the Secretary General.

In today’s sitting Ms. Fathimath Filza was endorsed as Consul General. Ms. Fathimath Filza was first appointed as Consul General on 18th December 2011.

Moreover Mr. Mohamed Haleem was appointed as Sergeant at Arms. He was first appointed on 31st October 2013.
