In this meeting committee discussed about the speaker’s request to review changes brought to Xpat System, changes in expatriate employment regulations and difficulties faced by the companies due to changes brought by Ministry of Economic Development. Since this issue was already proposed in the meeting by South Hithadhoo constituency Ibrahim Nazil, committee decided concurrently to review this issue and to include all the companies mentioned in the memo to the meeting to be held regarding this issue. Committee continued discussions about development of a separate legal framework for tour operators and tour agencies in the Maldives. Committee decided to meet selective hoteliers before drafting a bill as they are an important stakeholders regarding this issue.
