Committee deliberated on draft committee report on motion submitted parliament member for Hoarafushi constituency Ahmed Saleem, on the difficulties faced by operators of cafés and restaurants due to restrictions imposed about Covid-19 and decided to send the report to Majlis with the committee recommendations stated in the report. Furthermore, committee decided to meet Maldives Immigration officials regarding the new Xpat System, changes in expatriate employment regulations, changes to the issuance of work quota and difficulties faced by the companies due to changes brought by the ministry of economic development. Committee debated on letter sent by cable TV operators highlighting challenges faced by them due to entry of large companies such as Dhiraagu into the market. Committee decided to send a letter to Maldives broadcasting commission to formulate a national strategy regarding broadcasting and rebroadcasting with the views of stakeholders and evaluate the impact on the industry.
