During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the information requested for clarification. Since, the committee has received information that uninhabited islands opened for lease for agricultural purposes Under Article 11 (a) of the Maldives Uninhabited Islands Act, have already been leased to private individuals, it was decided to check from the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture whether any of the islands that have been leased to individuals in the past and if they have completed the necessary legal procedures before reopening the islands.
