In this meeting, the Joint Committee discussed the three bills presented to it. Following discussions, the Joint Committee unanimously voted to pass the Bill on Amendment to law number 14/2019 (Maldives Fisheries Act) with amendments. Further in this meeting, the Committee discussed the Bill on Amendment to law number 69/78 (Sea Vessels Act). The Joint Committee unanimously voted to amend all provisions of the Act where “Ministry of Transport” is used and replace the phrase with “Ministry”. The Joint Committee also unanimously voted to pass Section 1 of the Bill with amendments, and to amend Subsection 6(b)(1) of the Act.
