Assistant Director General Shabana Rashid presided over the selection process of committee chairperson and vice chairperson. Kinbidhoo contituency member Mohamed Nashiz’s name was proposed by Dhaandhoo Constituency member Yaugoob Abdulla and seconded by Dhuvaafaru Constituency member Ismail Ahmed. Kinbidhoo Constituency member Mohamed Nashiz was appointed as the committee chair by majority of the members present at the committee. Meanwhile, Alifushi constituency member Mohamed Rasheed Hussain’s name was proposed as the vice chair of the committee by Kinbidhoo Constituency member Mohamed Nashiz, seconded by South Hithadhoo Constituency member Ibrahim Nazil and passed by majority of the members present at the time of voting. Next, the committee passed the same Article of association used previous year with a change to quorum as proposed by Dhaandhoo Constituency member Yaugoob Abdulla and supported by Dhuvaafaru Constituency member Ismail Ahmed. The committee then decided to request for professional opinion from Ministry of Finance and Maldives Monetary Authority and opinion of Independent Institution regarding their allocated budget for 2024.
