In this meeting, the Committee discussed the “Resolution calling to expedite work on the construction projects of Laamu. Kunahandhoo powerhouse and sewerage system” and the “Resolution calling to expedite work on the construction project of the causeway between Laamu. Hithadhoo and Kunahandhoo”. The committee unanimously called on the Government to expedite the work contained in the resolutions. Motion proposed by Hon. Mohamed Waheed, MP for Ungoofaaru Constituency, seconded by Hon. Yoonus Ali, MP for Holhudhoo Constituency. This meeting today also discussed the Land Amendment Bill. Section 1-12(a) and (b) of the Bill was passed with the amendments brought by the Committee. The motion was moved by Dhiggaru MP Ikram Hassan and seconded by Ungoofaaru MP Mohammed Waheed. In addition, Section 13(c) of the Bill was passed with the amendments brought by the Committee. Section 13(d) of the Bill was passed as proposed. Both articles were passed by a majority of the members present in the committee. Further more Section 3 and 4 of the Bill was passed unanimously by the committee members. The committee also decided to complete the report of the bill and send it to the House.
