Summary
In today's meeting, the committee sat with the officials of Fenaka Corporation limited regarding the works carried out by the company to permanently resolve the electricity issue in Fuvahmulah city and to discuss the issue of employees being laid off and new employees being hired in violation of the company's policies. In this regard, they informed that the power problem in Fuvahmulah has been resolved, but it has been announced to purchase a generator of 1200 watt, in case of any unforeseen problems.
They also informed that no employees were laid off or new employees were hired in violation of the company's HR policy, adding that it had decided not to renew the contracts of the 1780 temporary employees working in the company after completing their contracts and that additional employees were being hired only after assessing the staff requirements for the projects. They informed that since January 2024, 1529 employees have been hired for the company and they have been hired as per the company's job structure. In addition to that they informed the committee that steps were being taken to reduce the cost of operating the company and that the new management was in the process of revising the company's procurement policy and HR policy
