In today's meeting, the Committee discussed and decided to forward the Resolution regarding concerns of the maritime industry to the Majlis floor without any amendments. Further, the Committee amended the Education Bill in today's meeting. Motion to amend section 17 and 18 of the Bill, proposed by MP for Kurendhoo Constituency Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem and endorsed by MP for Dhiggaru Constituency Ikram Hassan was passed with 7 votes. Motion to insert a section stipulating exemptions after section 18 of the Bill, proposed by MP for Fonadhoo Constituency Moosa Siraj and endorsed by MP for Dhiggaru Constituency Ikram Hassan was passed with 5 votes. The Committee unanimously voted to remove section 27 and subsections 36(b)(1) and 36(b)(5), and to insert subsections 36(b)(6) and 36(b)(7). The Committee also amended sections 29 and 30 of the Bill. Subsection 40(b) was amended with 4 votes.
