In today's meeting, the Committee discussed the Bill to Amend Land Transport Act (law number: 5/2009). Motion to conduct a meeting to discuss this Bill with officials of the Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation, Maldives Police Service, Secretariat of Male' City Council and Maldives Transport Authority was unanimously passed by the Committee. This motion was proposed by MP for Hoarafushi Constituency Ahmed Saleem and endorsed by MP for Kurendhoo Constituency Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem. Further in today's meeting, the Committee discussed and amended the Education Bill. As such, the committee voted to: insert a subsection after subsection 9(c); remove subsection 11(e); amend subsections 40(c)(2), 40(c)(5), 49(k) and (l). These amendments were passed by the Committee.
