Summary

In today’s meeting the committee discussed and decided the working quorum of the committee as 6 members. This was proposed by Thinadhoo North constituency member Sadulla Hilmy and seconded by Kendhoo constituency Mauroof Zakir.

Hence, the committee decided Committee Working Quroum as 6 members.


Secondly the Committee decided that the working quorum for the summoned meeting mentioned under the article 163 of standing order of 19th Majlis. North Thinadhoo contiency member Saudhullah Hilmy proposed this quorum to be 6 members and south hithadhoo member Ibrahim Nazil seconded.

Hence, the committee decided working quorum for the summoned meeting as 6 members.


Thirdly, the Committee discussed the voting quorum of the Committee. Committee members suggested two proposals;

  1. When the committee make any decision regarding the issues submit to the committee, the voting quorum should be at least 6 members attendance. This was proposed by North Thinadhoo contiency member Saudhullah Hilmy and seconded by Kaashidhoo Constituency Member Munthazim Ibrahim.

 

  1. When the committee make any decision regarding the issues submit to the committee, the voting quorum should be at least 7 members. This was proposed by South Hithadhoo Member Ibrahim Nazil and seconded by Kanditheemu constituency member Ameen Faisal.

Hence, the committee decided voting quorum as 6 members.

 

Since the first proposal was passed, vote was not taken for the second proposal.


Fourthly, committee discussed to guidelines to follow regarding the issues submit to the committee for review other than issues mentioned in the article 151 (a) of standing order Peoples Majlis. North Thinadhoo Member Saudhullah Hilmy proposed to continue to follow the guidelines that has been used by the committee of 19th Majlis with 2 ammendments; and this proposal was seconded by South Hithadhoo member Ibrahim Nazil.

Hence, the committee decided to continue to follow the guidlines regarding the issues submit to the committee for review other than issues mentioned in the article 151 (a) of standing order Peoples Majlis that has been used by the committee of 19th Majlis with 2 ammendments.


The fifth item on the agenda was, to discuss how to proceed with pending issues from the 19th Majlis.

  1. Regarding the letter sent from Maldives Trade Association, committee decided to meet with Ministry of Economic Development and Maldives Ports Limited and Maldives Trade Association. This was proposed by North Thinadhoo Member Saudhullah Hilmy and seconded by North Feydhoo Member Ismail Nizar.

  1. Letter sent by General Purpose Committee Letter number 57-F/AM/PMC/2024/37. The committee decided to get clarify additional information from stakeholders.


Last issue on the agenda was regarding the annual reports sent from related institutions. Committee decided to share the reports with Audit Office for their comments, and then further discuss the reports. This was proposed by South Hithadhoo constituency member Ibrahim Naazil and seconded by Kanditheemu Constituency Member Ameen Faisal.
