In this meeting the Committee continued reviewing the Bill on the Amendment to the Judicature Act. After having clarified that there would be no financial implications in passing the Bill on the Amendment to the Judicature Act from Ministry of Finance, MP Saud Hussain of Villingili Constituency proposed to pass the bill as reviewed by the Committee. This proposal was seconded by MP Moosa Siraj of Fonadhoo Constituency, and this proposal was passed unanimously by the Committee. Furthermore, in this meeting the Committee unanimously decided to extend the deadline to review the Bill on the Amendment to the Judicial Service Act to 25th July 2019. And, MP Hassan Latheef of West Henveyru Constituency proposed that the bill should be reviewed by a sub-committee. This proposal was seconded by MP Jeehan Mahmood of Hinnavaru Constituency. The deadline for the sub-Committee to conclude its work on the bill was decided as 23rd July 2019.
