Summary

In today's committee meeting, members discussed how to proceed with the petitions in the committee. In regard to this, committee reviewed the petition calling to take strict measures for child protection. As committee had not yet received the answers to the letters sent to Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services as well as Human Rights and Gender committee, members decided to meet with the relevant parties. Secondly, committee reviewed the petition on the concerns of the Prisoners of Asseyri Jail, and unanimously decided to visit Asseyri Jail and meet with the petitioners. Next, committee discussed the petition calling to control the housing rents and agreed on to meet with the relevant parties. Moreover, committee also reviewed the petition to investigate the issue of giving land plots for building houses against the guidelines by Dh,Meedhoo Council. In regard to this petition, committee decided to meet with the petitioners and the council members of Dh.Meedhoo. Then, committee also reviewed the petition proposed by the parents of the Hiraa School on subsidizing fee, providing breakfast, text books and stationaries similar to governmental schools. Committee members decided to meet with Parliament Member of South Hithadhoo constituency. Lastly, committee decided to send Petition calling to investigate the actions of the President of Naifaru Council to Decentralization Committee.
