In this meeting, the Committee discussed how the Committee would proceed with reviewing the issue sent to the Committee by the Speaker of the Parliament. In which, the Speaker requested the Committee to gather information regarding all convicts from relevant authorities. Next, the Committee continued reviewing the Bankruptcy bill. Afterwards, the Committee decided the deadlines to complete two new issues sent to the Committee by the Speaker of the Parliament. In the first issue, the Speaker requested the Committee to review the current government policies for rehabilitating drug abusers, drug traffickers and victims of drug related issues, identify the issues with the existing policies and to make relevant recommendations. In the second issue, the Speaker requested the Committee to review the current government policies on awarding parole, clemency, and non-custodial penalty systems, identify the issues with the existing policies and to make relevant recommendations. The Committee decided that the deadline to complete reviewing both these issues as 31st March 2021.
