Committee deliberated on issue regarding the new Xpat System, changes in expatriate employment regulations, changes to the issuance of work quota and difficulties faced by the companies due to changes brought by the ministry of economic development. Two recommendations were proposed in the committee but none of those recommendations were passed as both recommendations did not receive enough votes. Committee chairperson decided to schedule this issue in other meeting. Recommendation: 1 - To complete committee works on this issue based on the information gathered by the committee and to give the reply to those who submitted issue to the committee. This recommendation was proposed by parliament member for Central Maafannu constituency Ibrahim Rasheed and supported by parliament member for Dhuvaafaru constituency Ismail Ahmed. Recommendation: 2 – To meet Maldives Immigration’s officials for further clarification since this issues isn’t rectified and many are facing difficulties regrading the Xpat system. This recommendation was proposed by parliament member for North Fuamulah constituency Mohamed Rasheed and supported by parliament member for South Hithadhoo constituency Ibrahim Nazil.
