The Committee reviewed the draft bill to Ensure Continued Functioning of Decentralized Government 2020. Public opinions received on the bill were shared with the committee. 14 opinions were in favor of extending the term of the outgoing councils while 15 were unwilling. Further, a working draft of the bill inclusive of the opinions of the sponsor and other relevant parties was introduced to the committee which was decided to be considered while reviewing the bill. Further, by majority of the committee members present at the meeting, the committee decided to discuss with all the political parties, according to the rules of the parliament, as to proceed with the bill.
