In this meeting, the Committee decided to meet with officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Gender and Social Services regarding the Amendment to the Immigration Act. Then, the Committee discussed the issue of the violent events instigated by migrant laborers in Maldives and decided to meet with officials from Ministry of Defence, National Counter Terrorism Centre, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and Maldives Police Service regarding the issue. Furthermore, the Committee reviewed a letter from Ibrahim Rasheed Moosa, H.Dhoohimerige, requesting the Committee to review the events of 7th February 2012. The members of the Committee were asked to read the CoNi Report regarding this issue.
