In today's meeting, the Committee set the deadline to finish its work on the Electronic Transactions Bill. Motion proposed by MP for Dhiggaru Constituency Ikram Hassan and endorsed by MP for Manadhoo Constituency Ahmed Haroon, to set the deadline until 30 November 2021 was passed unanimously. The Committee also decided to open this Bill for public comments and to conduct a meeting with the following stakeholders regarding the Bill: 1. Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Technology; 2. Ministry of Economic Development; 3. Chief Technology Officer at the President's Office; 4. Communication Authority of Maldives; 5. Maldives Monetary Authority; 6. Department of Judicial Administration; 7. Banks operating in the Maldives; and 8. Internet service providers in the Maldives. The Committee also discussed the Report on Bill to Amend Land Transport Act (law number: 5/2009) reverted to the Committee for reconsideration.
