In this meeting, discussions were held on the issue submitted by the Committee on Independent Institutions stating that the salaries of members of the Commission, other than the President, have huge gap compared to the salaries of members of other independent institutions. The motion submitted by Vilufushi Constituency member Hassan Afeef and supported by Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Qafoor Moosa, to obtain consultation from National Pay Commission was passed due to the failure of objection to the motion. The Chair of the Committee decided to schedule the resolution regarding the large amount of money generated by businesses in the Maldives not entering the financial system of the country and the resolution calling for a moratorium on those who have taken loans to support businesses due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, for the next meeting.
