In this meeting committee reviewed the issue of the drafting of a special law for tour operators and tour agencies as they are currently regulated by regulations issued by Ministry of Tourism emanated from Act no. 2/99 (Maldives Tourism Act). In this regard, since Ministry of Tourism informed that they have drafted a bill and it was sent to Attorney General's office for further reviewing, committee decided to share this information with the Speaker of the parliament. And also decided to inquire about an estimated date when the bill will be presented to parliament from Attorney General's office and request them to speed up the process.
