Public Accounts Committee's 2nd meeting for the year 2022

In today's meeting, the deadline to review the Asset and Interest Declaration Bill, as proposed by Vilufushi Constituency Member Hassan Afeef and supported by South Fuvahmulaku Constituency Member Mohamed Mumthaz, was passed as 31st May 2022. Furthermore the committee decided to form a sub-committee of 06 members (Faresmaathodaa Constituency Member Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Hanimaadhoo Constituency Member Abdul Ghafoor Moosa, South Fuvahmulaku Constituency Member Mohamed Mumthaz, Thimarafushi Constituency Member Abdulla Riyaz, Felidhoo Constituency Member Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and Maradhoo Constituency Member Ibrahim Shareef). Information regarding a training program to be held on 24th to 28th April 2022 at England was shared with the members. The paperwork of loan of 51,422,000 Emirates Dirham (about USD 14 Million) agreed from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) for "Converting Waste-To-Energy Project In Addu City" was shared with the members. The paperwork of loan of 20 Million Euro agreed from European Investment Bank (EIB) for "Covid-19 Rapid Response to Maldives" project was shared with the members. The paperwork of loan of 13,850,799 Islamic Dinar (about USD 20 Million) agreed from Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for "The Greater Male' Waste Management and Improvement and Waste-To-Energy" project was shared with the members. The paperwork related to bond worth MVR2.5 Billion issued to Maldives Monetary Authority for the cashflow management was shared with the members. Budget Cashflow Plan for the 2022 was shared with the members. Issue submitted by GDh. Thinadhoo council regarding council salaries and allowances determined without taking into account the required works and the population of the island was discussed. And decided to inform the council that such issues in the salary structure will be taken into account while revising state salaries. A copy letter received from Local Government Authority regarding the challenges in allocating the allowances of Women's Development Committee members from the 5% allocated to them from the government grant for the island councils was shared with the members. The work of Auditor General's Office for 3rd quarter for the year 2021 was shared with the members. Changes brought to the frontline allowances to be disbursed to the frontline workers and their supporters was shared with the members. Financial accounts of the Auditor General Mr. Hussain Niyazy and his children was shared with the members.
