In today's meeting the committee decided to to extend the duration given to PWC to submit AGO 2021 audit report as requested and also to inform Auditor General's Office to notify the committee if the duration given by the auditors to comment on the draft report is insufficient. Next, the committee decided to draft a committee report inclusive of the findings and recommendations on the issue (failure to submit 2021 Annual report to AGO in compliance with Public Finance Act). Then, the committee decided to clarify criteria in ranking the firm in Audit and Assurance and for a list of firms under each category by Institute of Chartered Accounts of the Maldives and to clarify the policy of all State Owned Enterprises in appointing an audit firm for the companies external or internal audit, as the opportunities of local audit firms to win SOE's audit works is limited due to the companies audit policy ,as the concern was raised by Member for Dhaandhoo Constituency Yaugoob Abdulla.
