The meeting was held as part of the review of the annual reports of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority for the years 2020 and 2021 based on the key performance indicators assigned to the authority. In this meeting a presentation was given by MIRA highlighting details of tax revenue collected during the period, activities, programs, trainings and work carried out in 2020 and 2021 to create awareness among the tax payers, to run the tax system, to comply with the law, to obtain the unpaid funds, and to strengthen administrative and staffing procedures, to use modern technology and establish IT systems, and to strengthen relations with other agencies and organizations. The authority also clarified the information that members wished to inquire further about the annual reports and presentation given by them. Officials of the Auditor General's Office also attended the meeting, as the committee decided to allow relevant officials from the Auditor General's Office to participate in the meetings held to review the annual report of the institution.
