Summary
In today's meeting, the petitions committee reviewed the issue proposed by the Flat owners of Lh.Naifaru addressing the water usage problems and other major issues of 100 housing units constructed in Lh. Naifaru.
The committee met with the officials of the Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to discuss the situation. During the meeting, the committee members asked about the issues and shortcomings raised in the petition. These included the reason why only one water line taken from the ground for use in flats (for all purposes) has been drawn, what is the reason for water leakage through Aluminum doors, electric sockets and ceilings of the rooms during rain, what are the steps taken to address the issue, and regarding the construction of the outer wall of the of the Housing Units.
In response, the ministry said that the well water has been connected temporarily and supply water will be available by December and the construction of one pipeline is now being designed for ease of maintenance in all their designs. The problem of water flowing through small doors has been resolved, and the island council has been requested to send its design to the Ministry for the construction of the walls.
