In this meeting, the Committee discussed and set the deadline to conclude its work on the “Resolution calling to expedite work on the construction projects of Laamu. Kunahandhoo powerhouse and sewerage system” and the “Resolution calling to expedite work on the construction project of the causeway between Laamu. Hithadhoo and Kunahandhoo”. Motion proposed by Hon. Yoonus Ali, MP for Holhudhoo Constituency, seconded by Hon. Ibrahim Shareef, MP for Kelaa Constituency, to set 30 October 2023 as the deadline to conclude the Committees’ work on the Resolutions was passed with a majority of members in attendance. Additionally, motion proposed by Hon. Ibrahim Rasheed, MP for Central Maafannu Constituency, seconded by Hon. Yoonus Ali, MP for Holhudhoo Constituency, to clarify the reasons (if any) for delays in the implementation and completion of the projects stated in the Resolutions, and the estimated date for the completion of these projects, was passed with a majority of members in attendance. Further in this meeting, the Committee discussed the process for conducting the review of annual reports received from agencies under its mandate. Hon. Ahmed Saeed, MP for Gemanafushi Constituency, proposed a motion to conclude the review of annual reports prior to 17 November 2023. Motion proposed by Hon. Ibrahim Rasheed, MP for Central Maafannu Constituency, seconded by Hon. Ahmed Saeed, MP for Gemanafushi Constituency, to conduct the Committee’s discussions regarding annual reports based on summaries prepared by the secretariat, and to send recommendations to agencies as required, was passed with a majority of members in attendance. Additionally, the Committee decided to commence this work on 24 October 2023, and to conclude it on 25 October 2023.
